An exciting and important addition to the infrastructure and facilities we have already delivered. Lakelands station will benefit the communities of Lakelands and Madora Bay by decreasing their travel times and improving the bus services in the area.

This coupled with the 2-fare zone caps makes travel to Perth affordable will benefit our community. The Lakelands Train Station and associated bus routes are being delivered by the Labor Government as part of METRONET.

In 2019, the McGowan Labor Government reached a funding agreement with the Commonwealth Government to allow for the construction of a new METRONET station at Lakelands.

Lakelands Station will be built off Lake Valley Drive and is the next addition to the Mandurah Line. The station will reduce the growing pressure on Mandurah and Warnbro stations, offering better access to public transport for residents in Lakelands and surrounding suburbs.

As local member, David has long supported the community of Lakelands in their desire for a local station.

Construction on Lakelands Station will began in early 2021 and delivered its operational expectation by June 2023.

More information and updates can be found on the METRONET site.
